DOERS International Open Startup School

*ship’s next partner is DOERS International Open Startup School. It’s an innovative international educational and mentoring program based on the best practices in technological entrepreneurship for IT/MOBILE/INTERNET startups interested in entering the Russian and global markets, or those who want to acquire new knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship, design their startup idea or join a startup team to get experience. This program started in 2012 at the St. Petersburg State University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO University), which is one of Russia’s leading higher education institutions providing training and research in advanced science, humanities, engineering, and technology.

With *ship Startup Festival company Doers opens registration for a new batch in the international school of startups, where teams of the best projects will have a chance to compete for the main prize *ship of 5000 €.

Everybody can come with an idea or MVP and learn to make a scalable startup at DOERS as well as resent and network with cross-border investors and startup community at *ship Festival. DOERS is seeking entrepreneurial students – both international and Russian with different backgrounds (IT, economics, design, biotech. etc.).

DOERS will allow you to create/develop your startup from an idea to a minimal viable product and/or test key hypotheses for an existing startup project in the Russian market (mini-accelerator) – if it is appropriate for your product or service. In the end, you will present your team’s project to industry experts and venture capitalists. During the intensive two-week online program of DOERS school, you will work in groups of three to four members (together with students of ITMO University, Russia) and attend webinars and virtual tours of St. Petersburg’s entrepreneurial infrastructure. Based on the pitching results, the best projects will take part in *ship Startup Festival and compete for the main prize of 5,000€.

If you want to take part in DOERS’ program, register here:

The application is open until the 23rd of July. If you’re a XAMK student, participation is free of charge.

Russian Finnish Business Accelerator

Another *ship’s partner is Russian-Finnish Business Accelerator. It is a tool for projects and students for preparation and training of project leaders on product and market launch, case studies, pitching and all things startups need.

It’s a tool that helps develop disruptive ideas from a primary concept to a finished, functional product. The accelerator “packs” products with brand identity, industrial design, prepares them for the market launch at the very initial stage – idea. It also helps in the fundraising and commercialization of projects.

For example, Russian-Finnish Business Accelerator provides cooperation with science parks and municipal administrations of Finland and Russia, transfer of technologies to the European industrial platforms, startup pitching to the European investors, funds, and angels, fast launch of a project in Europe, and assistance at all stages – from the presentation and pitching to company registration.

The accelerator is a very important tool to generate young projects and startups. It gives a platform to exchange experience, create interaction between the people, keen on science, and striving for scaling their ideas and solutions.

If you have ideas and you are committed to turning them into reality, feel free to drop a line to Russian-Finnish Business Accelerator! Check out their website:
